Introduction and some "before" pictures

Welcome to our renovation blog. I thought that this would be a good place for me to be able to process this big event in our lives and to share our progress. There have been so many people that have supported us and prayed for this great event to happen and it's been at least 4 years in the making. So, here we go...

We made it through the first 3 weeks of our renovation. The plan was to move back in after those 3 weeks but we ran into some obstacles....old termite damage...ruh roh! So, Contractor Jay (let's call him C.J. for the purpose of this blog so as not to get confused with my Jay) wanted to call in the building inspector to to make sure the framing was up to code. So, that took some extra time. Also, b/c our house is so old, our studs are different depths. Needless to say, it is a tedious job to level all the studs to be able to hang drywall properly. All in all, there have been things that have added time to our renovation but I'd have to say that it's not as bad as it could've been, no?

I'm going to add some pics of the progress of the house, us in the various homes that friends and family opened up to us and whatever else may seem pertinent. This posting has the "before" pictures of our kitchen and bathrooms.
